About Me

My name is Karen McMahon. In 2020, I moved to the Desert Hills / Anthem area of north Phoenix. I am an AZ K-12 Certified educator, with a Masters degree in Education. I have taught 17 years in the PVUSD district. My 17 years of classroom teaching included elementary, as well as middle school. I have a Reading Specialist endorsement and I have worked with a range of student abilities in reading and writing.

I have been tutoring for over twenty years in all subject areas. I have tutored math levels up to high school Algebra 1-2 and Geometry (including Honors). I am fluent in Spanish and have a current Spanish teaching certification. In addition to after-school tutoring, I also service homeschool families as an ESA vendor.

I’m a mother, with an 9th grader attending Cactus Shadows High School. Since moving to Desert Hills, we’ve acquired two cats and a dog, and we are loving our neighborhood in the desert.
